Focused Phonics involves one-to-one or small group instruction using sequenced, synthetic phonics instruction. Each step your child takes is carefully planned to embed incremental understanding of the 44 phonemes of the English language and their application in reading and writing. 1 - 3 sessions a week are recommended. Detailed progress reports and regular updates are provided. Most suited to students in Years 1 to 3 struggling to retain and use their phonics knowledge when reading, spelling and writing.

Corrective Reading is a small group (no more than 6, usually 4) reading comprehension program that also covers many aspects of phonics. It is a thoroughly researched and results backed series of lessons run to a strict format and sequence. Student eligibility depends on an intake assessment placement tool. Home workbooks are also provided once the program commences. 3 sessions a week are required as part of the program. Most suited to students in Years 4 to 6 who are lagging one or more years behind in their reading development.
